TAKE A WALK

through the Spijkbos

Right next to Walibi Village lies the Spijkbos. This is a planted forest where mainly pines and firs thrive best. But in places where the soil is more fertile, deciduous trees such as poplars, oaks, and ashes have also been planted. Due to the great variation in soil and trees, there is also a wide variety of animals! You can spot many birds and also find various insects and amphibians. For the real detectives, you can find traces of beavers. For young and older adventurers, hiking trails have been laid out, namely the Sparrenpad (3km) and the Dennenroute (5km).

Prefer to bike in the wooded area or along the shores of the Veluwemeer? Or, of course, both! The area around Walibi Village offers this diverse possibility. Quickly plan your bike route with the ANWB node planner and enjoy a tour with the whole family or group of friends. Tip: there are various ferries crossing the Veluwemeer that allow bikes on board. This way, you can explore Gelderland quickly. Walibi Village offers the option to rent bikes. This can be done via email or by stopping by the reception.

  • Eiland de Kluut is located in the Veluwemeer, right on the border between Gelderland and Flevoland. The island is beautifully covered with trees and reeds but also offers open spaces. The harbor is generally quiet and borders a spacious lawn.
  • In the middle of the Veluwemeer lies Pierland, halfway between Bremerbergse Hoek and Harderwijk. This island has over 50 moorings.
  • Halfway between Elburg and Harderwijk, you can find the island of Ral. The Ral is located between two nature islands of Staatsbosbeheer; the Snip and the Kwak. At various locations around the Veluwemeer, there are opportunities to rent boats.
